Project description

The Mintridge Foundation is a charity that encourages young people to have a positive relationship with sport. It works with schools, colleges, sport clubs, universities, and sports governing bodies and within the community to increase the participation in sport. It focusses, but not exclusively, on females and young people with disabilities. It also provides a support network for young people with a particular sporting talent and enhances life skills in young people.

The charity's services are delivered by a team of Ambassadors - Olympians, Paralympians, and other professional sports icons from over 20 sports, both team and individual. They help young people live well and develop mental and physical fitness.

Sports stars have an ability to inspire the young people they work with, and by giving their time, expertise, and advice they make the students feel special and encourage their progress. This is a two-way process in that the process helps to develop the skills of the sports people developing the training by increasing their skills and self-esteem.

The aim of this project would be to develop an impact assessment framework for the charity and to determine the data it needs to collect to demonstrate impact to funders. The volunteer would develop the framework through engagement with the charity’s founders and staff to develop ideas. This would be followed-up by work with ambassadors, potentially via focus groups and structured interviews and with partners, including schools, sports clubs, and colleges.

Skills and experience in outcome measurement would be valuable for this project.
