OR63: Behavioural OR

Behavioural OR (BOR) can bring a helping hand and a fresh perspective to many OR disciplines, from system dynamics and simulation to supply chain management and decision analysis.

The current growth in interest in behavioural OR stems from a long observed gap in 'people issues' in a wide sense, coupled with the emergence of a set of methods that promise the potential of being able to address such issues. We are interested to hear about your projects throughout the current pandemic that relate to this.

Our sessions will include lectures and a keynote speaker, as well as an interactive panel discussion.

We're now looking for OR professionals, data scientists, professors, researchers, analysts, engineers, etc., to present at this event. Submit your 300-word presentation summary on Behavioural OR by the now extended deadline of the 25th of June to join our expert OR63 speakers!

We welcome talks on Behaviour OR

This stream should be particularly illuminating to those OR academics and practitioners who have noticed the limits of approaches that are insensitive to issues such as how:

  • human behaviour is modelled;
  • clients interact with models;
  • and (iii) policymakers utilize models in their decision making.
Submit your 300-word summary now to speak at our Behavioural OR stream.
